*August and September*

Well, I have finally slowed down enough to catch all of you up to date on my last couple months! Flying back to Ft. Worth and being in the Stockyards for a week filming the new TV program was a dream come true! I will admit that the humidity was quite a shock, but the experience at Superior Productions was well worth it!

Flying into Amarillo for the Miss Rodeo America Seminar, I was anxious to tour the AQHA Headquarters and Hall of Fame! Thank you not only to the Miss Rodeo America Corporation, but also Bill Brewer, Cam Foreman, and Kelly DeBorde for making my trip unforgettable!

Arriving home, I headed up to Sacramento for the Cattleman's Fashion Show at the State Fair, where I had the opportunity to model some of the most chic clothes for fall, from Yosemite Hide Company, as well as Wrangler! Thank you to Norma Fox for inviting me to participate in such a prestigious event! The next morning I was off to the State Capitol with Bob Fox, PRCA Lobbyist, to receive a resolution from my assemblyman, Mike Villines on the Assembly floor, for winning Miss Rodeo California! I have to say out of all the, "once in a lifetime" opportunities I have had throughout my year, this by far was the greatest! I cannot thank Bob enough for accompanying me and making that day possible! Oh... and I will mention that it was 108 degrees at the Capitol.... and you better believe I was in a LEATHER DRESS AND JACKET! But... It was all more than worth it!

Returning home, I had a couple weeks to catch up with the family, and do some work around the ranch! It felt great to be home! I soon left for LA to head to the Broken Horn Annual Sale for the weekend. It was great to see all the people at Broken Horn, as well as Tara Rowe, Amanda Jenkins, and Ashley Andrews MRA 07, who were all there for Absorbine. On my way home, I managed to detour to Santa Monica for the day and met up with some friends and shopped my heart out!

This past week I have been gearing up for the fun week to come! I just received word, that I was invited to fly with the LAPD on Monday before the pageant! I am deathly afraid of heights but I will say I am totally excited and a little concerned on how to wear the earphones…. And cowboy hat all at the same time?!

I can’t believe the Miss Rodeo California Pageant is already here. I know this sounds cliché... but it really feels like yesterday I was just leaving San Dimas in my new Toyota Tundra. This year, we have a great group of 10 girls, that I know each one will represent their rodeo very well! I will say that the week of competition will be tiring, but will be a great life experience everyone can add to their milestones of accomplishments. To each one of the girls, I wish you the best of luck!!
