The 2008 Miss Rodeo California Pageant!

What a whirlwind of a week it was, in San Dimas, Ca! With Ten ladies competing and a week of events, Friday evening I crowned the new Miss Rodeo California 2008, Maegan Ridley!! The week began with orientation and horsemanship, where volunteers from the community loaned their horses to our event. The horses were great, and the ladies were even better. Following horsemanship, were tours and interviews that allowed the girls to show their personalities and knowledge in not only the world of rodeo, but current and world events as well. The evenings consisted of speeches that showcased a biography and a California speech. On Friday, we attended more events with sponsors, and anxiously waited for Coronation. At the Shilo Hilltop Suites in Pomona, the results were as followed:

• Miss Speech: Mackenzie Cayford- Miss Rodeo Ramona
• Miss Horsemanship: Dayna Iverson- Miss Rodeo Clovis
• Runner Up Horsemanship: Maegan Ridley- Miss Rodeo Norco
• Miss Appearance: Maegan Ridley- Miss Rodeo Norco
• Runner Up Appearance: Andrea Krout- Miss Rodeo Santa Rosa
• Miss Personality: Maegan Ridley- Miss Rodeo Norco
• Runner Up Personality: Andrea Krout- Miss Rodeo Santa Rosa
• Miss Congeniality: Meagon Middleton- Airola- Miss Rodeo Turlock
• Judges Spirit Award: Meagon Middleton- Airola- Miss Rodeo Turlock

As you can see it was another successful year in the State of California!! Maegan and I look forward to our circuit finals, and the Miss Rodeo America Pageant!
